Pretty much this mix was made in the morning. I just pretty much woke up and just decided to record it. I'd like to continue the Chillout Sessions saga, but I'm going to add (Morning) if its like this. I went on a sort of "slow paced" approach, not really looking for an immense playlist, but just one to bob your head to. Definitely worth the listen if you like that coffee shop sort of vibe. I hope you guys enjoy this one, it has a funk sort of feel to it. Oh and are the mixes coming out more clear? I configured my interface the other day :D.

First things first, what do I need to say about this mix besides the fact that it's completely massive! I had fun making this mix, it was creativity and disc searching at the same time. I really didn't know what I was thinking mixing every track 1-2 minutes in key, but I was just having fun. Surprisingly, sometimes i'd scrap mixes that are 1-2 min key transitions, but this one actually got pieced together very well. Definitely a must check out and download link. For House mixes I'd keep the "Groove Control" tag and for everything else I really haven't decided. Enjoy this one!

First and foremost, I think its time to get some mixes out of the way, a total of 3 mixes, 2 posted, have been made this spring break. For blog viewers, I'm so sorry that I didn't get the mixes and the DL' links up on the blog at the same time it was uploaded, I've just been trying to enjoy myself. Having that out of the way, I've learned alot during this spring break, just in general. I'm never going to stop djing because I always love music and creating these mixes for collections, as far as production, I've been slacking it. I haven't even been experimenting with half of the synths and other insturments in Logic, instead, I've been using meere drum kits, which equal into boring sounding repetitive songs, nobody wants to hear that. I decided to quit fucking around and just start working at it. All in all, here are the collection of mixes.

Ultra's finally over, and ever since then, I've been getting to work on everything that has to do with djing and production. Today and yesterday I've been working on some tracks, the first one i finished yesterday and the second one i've been working on named Afroplankton, which idk when its getting a release, well an official release, anyways, have fun listening to this, by the way, the Erol Alkan and Boys Noize set was amazing and possibly the best set I saw out of everyone else at Ultra, the energy was there, and they can sure play a crowd well. I think there was dutchie rotation as well on the decks, classy fellows!

Entry 65: Club Soda is No More

First off, how would I start off with this post.....Today Me and Max went separate ways to do other things, Club Soda is no more. I mean, what can I say, we both are rather better off alone then being a duo still. It was fun in the beginning, but as the present started to string together problems between us, we knew it wasn't going to work, or at least I did. I broke it off with him, saying that I needed to become solo, I just preform better, and I just can't deal with a partner right now, its just way too much confusion when it comes to what does what. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but its official, we're done, I'm going to start focusing on myself, and myself only, the way it was suppose to be done. I'm going to continue production, mixes, and as a DJ under the name of Moofin, like always, the way it started. I'm just going to have to rebuild myself up after the breakup, but whatever challenge is face, I'll do it. I wouldn't be at the place I am without you guys, keep listening, keep dancing, and keep loving it. As for Max, I wish him luck to whatever comes to him. Not only the breakup happened, but my mixer got fucked up, as you can see by the picture I was trying to rewire something, fucking bullshit. Whatever, old faithful had its plays. Think about it, just a couple of months ago to August, I was stuck in all ages and house parties, and now i've moved myself up from solo with a partner in the clubs, not saying I got carried or anything, because everything i've done was done from pure effort. I hustled to get to my spot, and i'm proud on wherever part i stand, its exciting though. All these clubs and everything. Ok so pretty much its been a super week for me, first off I started on Friday playing a set at Scorpico Multiplayer, it was good. Saturday came and i played a set for a girls quince which I totally got jipped by a local DJ named "DJ Eddie." Future dj's thinking to book with this guy, don't, unless if you don't want any money, he doesn't make any promises. When Sunday hit, things began to change. Me and Max played a set out for about 45 minutes in total between two breaks. We actually got called out by the manager to DJ at Karu & Y this friday (the flyer that is the picture), so any viewers/listeners (guys 21+, girls 18+), come, its going to be worth it, OUR SET IS @ 3-4 AM, SO DON'T MISS IT! Ok so today was pretty much a super, super, super tiring day. The only thing on my mind was the act of mashing up two of my favorite tunes into one project. Good news today, I finally finished the playlist for Moofin Goes to Breakfest Pt. 1, but it will be long until I record that mix, I want to wait for some quality to record that mix. Thats not the only thing thats been happening, I've been talking to everyone, and it's been completely confusing in the high school party scene. Maybe this week is the time to prove myself in society and promote myself worthy. I'll take the jobs this weekend seriously, for now, we got a brand new mix that is pretty hot, I approve, some of my best.

I'm making this post from my phone this morning due to the fact that my internet has been down for about 3-4 days straight. Apparently a local wire is missing or something? Anyways, I got a huge project coming up that's going to probably involve a lot of different styles of music, but it will be huge, probably trying to include 60+ songs in a 2 hour period, from artists like The Prodigy, to Zany and DJ Icey. There's a lot of oldschool with a bit of semi modern material. All in all I hope the list comes out well, ill be working on this while my internet is healing. Sorry I can't post any material that I would like to, but my sources are limited.

I haven't been posting because I've been so busy with a job and real life and everything. I've been working on DJing a ton manually (no midi, just straight cdj mixing), and its been good. Hey everyone, sorry I'm so late on everything, because I've been mad busy latley with a new job locally and making some extra money.I don't know what it is but I seem to be getting lazy with the evolution and actually questioning myself with "am I really going to start moving on to midi?" The answer is yes, and no. I'll still be using midi, but I have to get back to the actual analog way of mixing. Once I figure out the I/O's from my mixer to PC, that'll be something. 5 Macbooks + a shitload of midi, btw richie hawtin

Ok so now I'm thinking about the future and I see a pretty organized thing going around with everything. First off, equipment is pretty much vital to the work I do. Right now I'm using an HP DV9000 Laptop which runs Ableton decent enough for what I'm doing, a Lexicon interface which is obviously for I/O's, my midi controller (UC33e) which is beast, a PA 200 watt mixer with two speakers (specifically two Peavey PR12's). I mean, I'm not saying that my setup is bad, but it does have some potential to kick major. Right now I'm saving up for these two Peavey speakers (specifically the PV 215 Dual 15") which run at 1400 watts max, but my idea is to run both of them at 900 watts, giving off 1.8k power to each, by the way, I'll be running this off a Peavey 2600 watt power amp. This basically qualifies with 800 watts left over, so probably this would mean no short circuit bull. I might run a conditioner depending on what I do. As far as the laptop goes, I think its fine, because the only thing that's in it is music, which will probably be xfer'd into an external hard drive soon. My midi controller will be with me. For the mixer, I am debating on getting either a DJM 800 or a Xone:92, but thats way in the future after I literally know every component in Ableton, and I still have to find a preset log that I can map out in my mind before I buy the mixer. As far as everything else, a Macbook wouldn't be a bad edition, that will be when I have money to throw away. So the math is:

$300x2 =-$600 - Speakers
$600 - Power Amp
$1200-1700 - Xone: 92

lets get that 2000 somethin.

Yeah, today there is big news, I got a name change, and for alot of people reading this, alot of them will finally say "FINALLY MOTHERFUCKER!" To be honest, I'm staying with this name, no more flippy floppy bullshit with the names, but I think Moofin suits me the best. For a little history lesson on the name, obviously for some people reading this that are my close friends, this was my nickname for like 6 years, due to a PC game. Alot of my friends just called me the name and then it brushed off on everyone, I'm trapped with this name forever until the grave, but I love every one who calls me it. Close post to everyone, and thanks to everybody for driving me to name myself this (lol some drive.) Anyways I was looking back on the Guetta set I saw back in March @ UMF 11, and I gotta say, the set had its ups and laughs more. The "Just a Little More Love" drop is a lol, and the together loop, but also, I have to give the remix he put up which is the Love is Gone vs American boy remix, so fucking good. But yeah I'm thinking of turning in DS games (what a cringe) for cash so I can buy an audio i/o for my laptop (since I use the evo now) + I'm thinking of selling my cdj 200's and my old setup w/ the speakers and PA. Here's the shit: 2 Pioneer CDJ-200's, 2 Peavy PR12 PA Speakers, 1 Yamaha 200 watt powered mixer, and MAYBE my X6 Numark mixer (because I might use it for plugging in the speakers + an extra sub for nice bass.) Finally got the evo, thank God! When I opened it I was pretty focused on actually touching the knobs because thats what I wanted to know the most. Turns out the knobs are perfect! They are smooth and not clicky, the box present is actually pretty good, boxed together coming with skins and software. I realized I have vista on my laptop so the software is useless, so I downloaded Enigma and the drivers for the uc33 on m-audio.com. The only problem I seem to be having is that the evolution isn't doing any commands to the laptop :/. Oh man, I need to look into this. Anyways, a couple of weeks ago David Guetta released his hit single "When Love Takes Over", I realized this today because I havent been on the port in a while. Well, here are my two Favorites, they would have to be the Original Mix and the Laidback Luke Remix. The Electro Extended Mix isn't that bad either, actually, it'd have to be my prime favorite. Ok so first of all this update is actually one day early. The actual single is suppose to be released tommorow, but actually I was swinging down european I-Tunes to find the single already out! This single is about 3/5 in my opinion, for fans that are really true to the genre, I suggest getting the album, for people who are new to Prodigy and their new style (from Invaders Must Die), you might want to reconsider. So thoughts about this single, well, it does follow it's success from March's full album release. It also gives some artists some light from the remixes. Overall, ok album, enjoy. Well today I decided to spend my money on a Midi Controller. Yes, I am a big fan of Surkin and I do birdwatch his sets and what he uses. I saw the midi controller he used and all I could see on the back was "evolution." It is quick and simple, the knobs on it are smooth (no clicks) and 9 faders (1 assigned to master volume). This thing is beast mode, not to mention the pads you can also assign to do different things on ableton. I'll be using this with Ableton 7, because I really don't feel like learning 8. Yeah, $260 buy.

In other news, I'd like to share my discovery with you. So yeah I was basically just searching through old radio mixes I had in a folder and I ran into this song that sounded "Daft Punk" type, I was either guessing Alan Braxe & Fred Falke, Daft Punk, or Cassius. I searched through all of Cassius until I gave up. 3 months later I run into the track again and I just forum posted it, turns out the track was right in front of me the whole time. It was a remix of one of Cassius' tracks, La Mouche. Btw, the track is Cassius - La Mouche (DJ Falcon Remix). This has to be the catchiest beat ever next to Chord Memory or Mothership Reconnection (both of Musique), Musique's not that bad either.

One song, straight forward shit there. Basically this mix is like a month old but I never released it anywhere, so I just decided to release it now. It's pretty short, supposedly "unfinished work" but meh, I'm happy the way it is, too lazy to make it ten minutes now. A couple of things to note before listening to it. The Satisfaction transition is very bulky and crap, but if you go with the words to Hustler, it won't really make that much of a trainwreck. This is my first entry to the blog, presenting you with a chillout session mixtape. This mixtape is STRICTLY chillout, so don't expect some big bass kicks or like a huge drop, because your not going to get that shit here. This is like chilled the fuck out chill out music. I chose some of my best selections from AFX and Aphex Twin (saying that because most of this stuff is Richard D. James) as well as some old classics like Lush 3-2 and Hypnotizin'. I ended the mixtape with The Private Psychedelic Reel because the song is that epic. I hope you enjoy it, leave comments to tell me what you think. First post begins right here, I'm just gonna tell you guys what I'm here to do.
